Fruitone L - for thinning, return bloom and stop drop in apples and pears. Fruitone is an auxin plant hormone (sodium salt of naphthaleneacetic acid), available in both liquid and powder formulations, that offer flexibility in rates and timing for effective and convenient apple and pear thinning, return bloom enhancement and pre-harvest drop control. Thinning applications should be made 14 to 18 days after full bloom. Because of wide variations in varieties, climatic factors, tree vigor and fruit set, refer to labeled rates and recommendations for specific varieties and locations. Fruitone is labeled for low use rate and is ideal for successfully enhancing the return bloom and increasing production in apple and pear trees. Fruitone also prevents fruit drop without affecting normal ripening. Fruit must be picked at the proper stage of maturity even though the Fruitone is still effectively delaying excessive drop.
